We were asked to propose a master plan for an open air market on a 16 hectre site in Bangkok. In term of concept, it is the smooth combination of outdoor shopping and leisure (what is lacking in Bangkok).
The project is composed of 500+ natural ventilated shops, 5 mini event spaces, a large out door square for festivals with 30 restaurants around it, a 600 seat theatre and a large fresh market. In the project, we use a big manmade canal to connect those different types of programs together moving “shopping” (favorite activity of Bangkokians) towards leasure.
