At Saatchi & Saatchi’s Bangkok office, the interior design was revolutionized to cultivate a social atmosphere and spark staff creativity. Everyday objects became the canvas for inspiring innovative ideas, transforming the office into a vibrant and dynamic workplace.
The office is divided into two main zones: the creative zone and the managing zone. The creative zone, bathed in light and open space, encourages broad communication, idea-sharing, and a sense of family among the staff. On the other side, the managing zone features a darker yet colorfully decorated atmosphere, emphasizing that excitement is essential even in management. Between these zones lies a playful trophy wall and a bicycle wall, creating a lively transition space with pink-colored walls that breathe life into routine tasks.
Every element of the office was meticulously designed to be both functional and fun. By reimagining the use of everyday objects, the space becomes familiar yet refreshingly innovative. For example, a bicycle meeting table can split into two smaller tables, adding flexibility and a touch of whimsy to meetings. The front lobby boasts a counter table on wheels, resembling a bus, that functions as a mobile café/bar, enhancing the communal living areas while serving as a front desk.
Embracing the theme of twisting familiar identities, meeting pods were designed to mimic train seats and oversized armchairs, providing privacy and a unique spatial experience. An office monster message board, covering one entire side of the creative zone, replaces the typical square message board. This interactive installation features holes, pins, lighting, and shelving, inviting staff to engage with different parts of the “monster.”
Another standout feature is the bar extended into a daybed, doubling as a mini kitchen/bar with storage for a fridge and glasses or as a reading/resting area with book storage. This multifunctional design ensures that each component maximizes space while inspiring creativity and collaboration.
Overall, the design at Saatchi & Saatchi’s Bangkok office transforms the familiar into the extraordinary, creating an innovative and functional environment that inspires daily. Each element serves multiple purposes, blending seamlessly into the limited space and fostering an inspiring and productive work atmosphere.
